7 THINGS TO INCLUDE IN YOUR 2018 NEW YEAR RESOLUTION

A wise man once said, that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a difference result.

In 2018, you must not just want to succeed, you must do what it rightly takes to succeed.

You must examine yourselve, business, career etc., and then determine these questions: What worked?

What didn’t work? What must I stop, what must I start or continue to do?

It is the results you get from these analysis that will help you prepare adequately for 2018 in order to get the best of it.

Maybe you had wonderful ideas, great goals, and aspirations in 2017 but didn’t know how to bring them to reality or didn’t really have what or all it takes to bring them to pass.

Been fully aware that great ideas alone don’t make great successes and that you need a better understanding and above all, (you need) a plan, a resolution for the New Year to guide your pursuit, contained beneath are 7 things you need to include in your Resolution in anticipation of a prosperous and fulfilled 2018.

(1) Quit Procrastinating and be Determined to Succeed:

It is said that procrastination is the grave where your dreams, aspirations, and hopes lie.

…the best possible way to prepare for tomorrow is to concentrate with all your intelligence, all your enthusiasm, on doing today’s work superbly today. That is the only possible way you can prepare for the future. Procrastination usually involves ignoring an unpleasant, but likely more important task, in favor of one that is more enjoyable or easier. Success is not obtained overnight. It comes in installments; you get a little bit today, a little bit tomorrow until the whole package is given out. The day you procrastinate, you lose that day’s success.

If you didn’t achieve your goals this year, procrastination was the likely culprit. Make 2018 the year you stop procrastinating and start getting things done. This will help you to ensure that you won’t be sitting there at the end of next year wondering why you never got around to working on your goals.

Note that the really happy people are those who have broken the chains of procrastination, those who find satisfaction in doing the job at hand. They’re full of eagerness, zest, productivity. In 2018, you can be, too.

(2) Read or Write more books:

Books are an excellent way to gain a lot of knowledge on a huge variety of topics, and are also a great exercise for your brain. It’s not that difficult to go through 20 or more books in a year – you only need to make it a habit, discover your type of books and find a bit of time for reading here and there. In 2018, develope your writing skills and start writing books. If you’re already a writer, read more, write more. You’d be surprised to know just how many people out there have an interest in your works. Even if it is just a few random thoughts scribbled daily in an article, you shouldn’t be afraid to give writing a go with a few tips and tricks.

(3) Start a Business:

Make 2018 the year you stop thinking about starting a business and you start taking action –it’s OK if it’s a small business on the side. The first step to take is to write a business plan. Once you get your ideas down on paper, you’ll be that much more motivated to turn those ideas into reality. Most people don’t plan, but it will help you get to market faster. A business plan will help you gain clarity, focus and confidence. A plan does not need to be more than one page. As you write down your goals, strategies and action steps, your business becomes real.

(4) Spend less time on TV and social media:

In 2018 you must make up your mind to Watch less TV. The average person wastes a lot of time in front of the TV, time that could have been better spent developing skills, learning or keeping your body active. Once you manage to cut down on TV time, you will realize just how long and productive a day can really be.

Some people might not spend hours in front of the TV, or playing video games, but social media has become a serious addiction among a wide range of demographics. It’s fine to stay in touch with friends and family, but if you consistently spend more than an hour every day on social media, it’s time to make a change.

(5) Get a Mentor:

If you’ve got a big goal to accomplish, find someone that already has what you want and try to learn as much as you can from them. Often we’re too proud to get advice, but this can be the biggest shortcut to getting what you want that goes largely overlooked by you earlier on.

(6) Engage in useful skills or hobbies:

It is much better to use your free time in a constructive manner and pick up new skills while having fun at the same time. The Future-You will be glad that you did. No matter if you’re interested in communication skills or sports, find out how to learn new skills and hobbies in a short time. Engaging in hobbies in 2018 will do you good. It helps to relieve stress by keeping you engaged in something you enjoy. Hobbies help you become more patient. It increases your confidence and self-esteem. A hobby that you really dedicate your time to will lead you to build new skills. It helps prevent bad habits and wasting time. There is an old saying that “idle hands are the devil’s workshop.” If you have good hobbies to fill up your free time, then you will be less likely to spend that time on wasteful or negative activitie in 2018.Hobbies help you grow in various ways, including exposing you to new opinions and to new ways to look at life.

(7) Tackle your fears and insecurities:

Fear and insecurity are often the cause of several problems. As such, they must be addressed in 2018. You need to think of surviving and controlling your fear rather than overcoming it, and it will enable you to shed off a lot of the insecurities that you have.

It is not true that you cannot do something just because you could not do it when you tried the first time.

Learn through your failures and do not make the same mistakes that you made before.

Be determined to abide by the following nugets:

  1. Do not fear failures because they teach you better ways to deal with things. Always keep looking ahead, not behind you, to fulfill your goals in life.
  2. Failures are only temporary phases in life.
  3. You can achieve a better positive attitude in life by building your inner strength.
  4. When facing an obstacle, tell yourself about your capabilities and assure yourself that you can overcome it.
  5. Give yourself some positive self-talk and you will feel a resurgence of inner strength to tackle your problems.
  6. Work hard to reach your goals and expect positive results.
  7. Never shy away or back off from your commitment because it is hard. Make good choices and then strive hard to fulfill them.
  8. If you want to stick to your New Year’s resolutions in 2018, dream reasonable.
